Stealth-Cup:
Where Hackers Challenge Detection Systems For Thrill and Skill
Stealth-Cup is a research project that aims to benchmark intrusion detection systems by combining red teaming realism with the repeatability of adversary simulations. Additionally, it serves as a valuable educational platform for penetration testers.
Up to ten teams will attempt to hack into the network as stealthily as possible and achieve intermediate goals (e.g. exfiltration, destruction). The team with the fewest severe detections wins! There will be an overall winner, as well as separate IT and OT cup winners. Hackers will receive direct feedback on detections and can adapt evasion strategies accordingly. Resets of the infrastructure and scores will also be possible, but will result in overall point deduction.
Why participate?
- Recognition and Prizes: The overall winners will be inducted into our Hall of Fame and receive up to 4 iPhone 16 Pro, one for each member of the winning team. The top 3 will receive a VIP Subscription to HacktheBox for up to 4 team-members! We will publish the cup winner on our website, in follow-up research papers and in news releases. Participants can opt for anonymity.
- Networking Opportunities: The event concludes with an afterparty where you can meet peers and industry leaders in an informal setting.
- Team Building: Assemble a team within your company (recommended 3-4 players) and compete in challenges designed to test your stealth and strategic skills. There’s no upper limit on team size, but stealth is key!

Join Us for the StealthCup Event!
Date: Friday, March 28th, 09:00 – 17:00
Location: T-Center Vienna, followed by an exclusive Afterparty. This is an hybrid event, it is also possible to take part of the StealthCup remotely.
Event Details:
- Limited Spots Available: Only 10 teams can compete, so secure your spot early! Unfortunately all spots are taken at the moment!
- Experience Required: Ideal for professionals with a background in penetration testing. Familiarity with evasion techniques, Windows, and OT environments will give you an edge.
- Low Entry Barrier: We’ve designed the event to be accessible and affordable for everyone. If you’re newer to penetration testing, we encourage you to join a team where you can learn and grow your skills alongside experienced professionals.
- Internationals Welcome: The event will be conducted in English and offers the option for remote participation.

Participants will receive essential information, including technical details and objectives 30 days prior to the event to help prepare for the competition. This is optional, preparation is not required!
